Our 1st relationship

Inspired by all ideas sustainable and forward thinking with the “green” theme. It involves ourselves, the environment, and everything connected in between. Educate and share ideas, bc the earth doesn’t live for us, we live bc of earth, participate in taking care of it

Give in

“I felt deeply and I was free.”- Kazantzakis

Great quote that was handed down to me from a half blind, retired, psychology teacher. This is how I feel about doing art, writing, singing, or dancing alone.
Live by each thought or dream you have, don’t restrict yourself.

A Cool Town Christmas Carol

This holiday season Santa has decided to preserve the fundamentals in Life.

Instead of rocking out to Guitar Hero, why not learn the actual instrument? And, sometimes going back to the books could be better for our youth than good ‘ol Wikipedia, social media and internet games.

And while retreating, why bother with modernization when you could truly live it up
the old fashion way? Not only does it enhance the experience and captures the essence of the atmosphere, but it conserves energy, too!

Lastly, Life should never be too busy for a nice, hearty, home-cooked meal…
So, toss out the menus, fire up the those logs, grab a good book or the acoustics guitar and
get back to the basics of what makes Life worth living.

Happy Holidays from The ‘Cool’ Team!

Fragments

Salvaged wood+new acrylic paints+patterns from pictures I took while on past hikes and adventures+9 hours of creative work time=a piece completed for my friends Kevin & Lauren to be hung in their living room.  Completion and thumbs up=priceless :)

I call this piece “Fragments”

A living gift… moss balls :-)

With some hours to spare, money and craft, I created these beautiful and simplistic moss balls for your taking. The big ones are $25 and the smaller ones are $15. The plants inside the balls will eventually grow more with a little TLC and surround their round nest with their green drapery. We have sold a few and are looking forward to hearing from you if you’d like to give your family or friends a living gift this holiday. :)

Please contact Amy at Tanaka.AC@Gmail.com if you would like to purchase one.

Knowing what to be thankful for

Happy Thanksgiving! A time to reflect on what I am thankful for:

1. My family that is still whole, healthy, loving and supportive. Mom & Dad-for feeding me between paychecks if needed. For supporting my causes and getting involved with them. For always letting me know I must be doing right, if their telling me to take time off and relax sometimes! haha. I love you, and thanks for cooking today !! Anthony & Seth- for going out of your way to help me with web design for GreenLB and other things while you were busy yourself. For thinking about how I could involve my talents and skills with  your new business enterprises. For letting me hold some of my random stuff for projects & events in your backyard & garage because I have no space at my apt for it! haha.Thank you for bringing Tidah & Adri into this world! I love them to death and want to find more time to be more of a positive and creative influence in their lives. Andrew- for watching Saki while I’m busy at work or with my extracurricular activities. For being a sport and doing what I ask like carrying furniture, and using your truck, etc. For not judging me for my faults and always being supportive and caring, and helping me out when I was sick.

2. Thank you to my Saki baby dog for being patient while I am busy and still being ecstatic to see me when I get home. I feel so loved and needed! My little daughter…

3. Thank you to my closest friends for always giving a hand when in need, listening, and being supportive of my efforts. Thank you for getting involved with events even if there is no pay, and where gratitude and further support of you is the only reward. Thank you big time to my best friend, Sandra, for being the sister I never had and telling it like it is to make sure my decisions are always done from the heart…and thanks for the much needed Hawaii trip too! Holy moly what a beautiful atmosphere to experience! But really, thank you to those who continue to keep in touch and wonder about how I am doing, even if we don’t hang out much, I still think of you all at random times. I wish you all success, love and health… we’re not getting any younger, so let’s continue to have a great time and make the most of what we offer each other! xo

4. Thank you to my GreenLB team for being so incredibly awesome and diverse! I’ve never worked with such a passionate group of people who really want to see our community be united, unique, and positive through educating each other, sharing, and understanding all sides. Working with this group has definitely opened up doors for me and my mind. I love and respect you all for the hard work we’ve all put in because we simply want to do it and know it’s right. “The cosmos” have spoken and will continue to speak! ;-p

4. Thank you to my Trader Joe’s crew for hiring me! BIG THANKS to Amy Spencer for helping me get hired! I think this is my most favorite job so far.. I get to do what I love, art, and still get paid, have health insurance and retirement while doing it! It’s definitely fun and rewarding at work  and I love everyone’s positive attitude and open arms :) I don’t mind going to work even if its at 6am or earlier sometimes, because I get to run into smiling and singing faces!

5. Lastly, thank you to whatever energy is watching over me. I’ve already expressed before how this year has been VERY good to me. From the opportunities I have received, to the new bonds I have formed, and for having the will power to keep going and always having this urge to push myself to do more and be better than before. Everyone and everything I have encountered has somehow had a hand in this process of forming me. Thank you for walking with me at sometime through my life. I regret nothing, I don’t disapprove of anything, everything is happening to me for a reason, and it’s all led me to this point of being happy, so thank you! I am grateful and appreciate it.

Happy Thanksgiving! Positive thoughts bring positive energy to you, and everyone surrounding you..so give thanks :)

5. Thank you to my Forbidden City friends for being so chill and putting up with my rants sometimes about work or customers..hahaha..definitely has been a very different work environment and always full of unwanted surprises, haha! Regardless it’s ridiculous, but we laugh at it in the end.
